One of Vision Africa primary missions is providing medical services to people in need. We estimate that more than half-a-million Africans have received free medical treatment since the inception of the Vision Africa ministry.
This includes more than $550,000 in donated medicines during our medical outreach, and we welcome additional donations of medicines and medical equipment to further our medical outreach.
On a typical medical mission trip, we send 20 to 30 volunteer Nigerian nurses and 10 to 12 volunteer Nigerian doctors into the field to provide care where access to medical service is difficult or impossible.
As the thousands gather to receive care, the young nurses often bless those gathered with their songs of praise and their stories of faith in being called into nursing ministries. Not only are we able to treat large numbers of people on a site, but we are also able to share with them the message of God’s love as they gather.
We then approach the goal of “sustainability” by stockpiling medicines and other medical supplies at local churches for easy distribution as it becomes needed.
We wish to extend our thanks to those who donate medicines, supplies and organizational time to provide this much needed medical service.
